Concrete & Heavy Debris across North Central Florida
Concrete, block, brick, asphalt, and dirt are heavy in a way that catches a lot of people off guard — a container that looks half-empty by volume can already be at its weight limit. For projects like a driveway tear-out, a patio replacement, or clearing old footers and block from a demolished structure, we size the dumpster around weight first and volume second.
That's why heavy-debris jobs almost always use a smaller container than you'd expect. A 10 or 15 yard dumpster loaded with concrete can weigh as much as a 30 or 40 yard box full of household debris — sizing it right keeps the job on budget and keeps the truck within a safe, legal haul weight.

Sizing
Which container for concrete & heavy debris?
Every size below runs on this service. Match the material to the weight allowance and the volume takes care of itself.
- 10-yard-dumpster — The most common size for concrete, block, and dirt — small footprint, right-sized weight capacity
- 15-yard-dumpster — A step up for larger driveway or patio tear-outs with more material to clear
- 20-yard-dumpster — Used when a heavy-debris load is combined with some lighter demolition material
| Size | Dimensions | Capacity | Weight included | Best for |

Concrete & Heavy Debris — the Gainesville-area specifics
Heavy-debris jobs are common across Gainesville's west side, where a lot of driveway and patio work happens in neighborhoods around Haile Plantation and along the Newberry Rd corridor, as well as on larger properties out toward Archer and Newberry where old slabs, footers, or barn foundations sometimes need clearing. Because these containers are placed for weight, not size, they're easy to fit into a tighter driveway or a spot right next to the work area.
If your project generates a large volume of concrete or dirt, ask about scheduling multiple pulls instead of one oversized container — for dense material, several smaller loads are often more practical than one big box.

Answers
Concrete & Heavy Debris — your questions answered
Why is the recommended dumpster size for concrete smaller than for other debris?
Concrete, block, and dirt are extremely heavy per cubic yard. A 10 or 15 yard dumpster can hit its weight limit long before it looks full, so we size these jobs around weight first rather than the biggest box available.
Can I mix concrete with other demolition debris in the same dumpster?
A small amount is usually fine, but a load that's mostly concrete, block, or brick should stay separate from wood-frame demolition debris so the weight stays manageable. Ask us if you're not sure how to split a mixed job.
Do you take dirt and excavation spoils?
Yes, clean dirt and fill from excavation work can go in a heavy-debris container. Let us know the volume ahead of time so we can size and weight-rate the container correctly.
Can a heavy-debris dumpster sit on my driveway?
Yes, though because these loads get heavy fast, we're extra careful about placement and can use protective boards under the container to help protect the surface.
What if my slab has rebar in it?
Small amounts of embedded rebar are normal and fine. For a large slab that's heavily reinforced, mention it when you book so we can plan for the extra weight and, if needed, break the job into more than one load.
