GVL Dumpster Rental Gainesville runs out of a yard on 7230 W University Ave, on Gainesville's west side near the I-75 and Butler Plaza corridor. The company started after seeing the same pattern too often — missed drop-offs, confusing pricing, or poor communication right when someone needed help the most. So we do the opposite. One number that covers the job. A delivery window we actually hit. A person on the phone rather than a form on a website.
Gainesville mixes a huge, dense University of Florida-driven core near campus and midtown, a fast-growing west-side commercial corridor along Newberry Rd and Archer Rd, and established in-town neighborhoods like the Duckpond and Haile Plantation. The university itself sets a real seasonal rhythm here — every May and August a genuine wave of student-housing move-outs generates real cleanout demand, on top of a normal spring-through-fall building season. Out in Alachua County, towns like Alachua, High Springs and Newberry mix newer subdivisions with small-town cores, while Micanopy, Waldo and Hawthorne keep more of a rural, acreage feel. Farther out, Melrose sits toward the Putnam County line, Keystone Heights and Starke round out the Clay and Bradford County edge, and Trenton, Bronson and Williston cover Gilchrist and Levy County. What changes town to town is access — a tight student-rental duplex lot near campus is a different job than an open rural drive out toward Trenton — and Florida's real June-through-November storm season, since downed-limb cleanup along our famous canopy roads follows the storm track far more than any single calendar date. Knowing which is which before the truck arrives is most of the job.
Whatever you are clearing — a storm-damaged roof, a family home, a new-construction site or a yard full of storm debris — the container exists for it. Call (352) 900-1538 and describe it in a sentence.

How it works
Most bookings take under four minutes.
One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the box needs to sit and when you need it, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No forms, no waiting on an email.
You get one number covering delivery, the rental period, pickup, disposal and a stated tonnage allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so.
The driver walks the spot with you and sets the container square on the driveway, lot or jobsite. If the surface needs protection we will say so before we set it down.
Keep it level with the top rail and keep the banned items out. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call and we are on it.
Clean concrete, metal and yard debris get routed for recovery rather than landfilled where we can. You get your driveway or lot back the way you left it.
Local knowledge
There is a difference between covering an area and knowing it. We know which west-side streets fill up with new construction and Butler Plaza traffic, when UF's move-out weeks will jam the streets near campus, which Alachua and Newberry subdivisions are still going up, and what Archer Rd or Newberry Rd is doing on a given afternoon.
Our service area page lists every city we cover, grouped by how close each one is to the yard, and each city has its own page covering access, housing stock and the local rules we run into.

Why us
The phone rings at 7230 W University Ave on Gainesville's west side, not far off I-75 and Butler Plaza. Whoever picks up knows the difference between a tight in-town duplex lot near campus and a wide-open new-construction site out past Newberry Rd.
Delivery, the rental period, pickup, fuel, disposal and a stated tonnage allowance in a single number. If your load looks like it will go over, we say so before the truck leaves the yard.
Call early and most Gainesville and Alachua County orders go out the same day. Farther towns like Starke or Trenton are usually next-day — honestly, and in advance.
Boards go under the rails on every driveway as standard, and the driver will tell you before delivery if a tighter lot or new-construction site needs a different approach.
Weight fills a container long before volume does. If a 10 yard is the honest answer for your concrete load, that is what we will quote you.
Gainesville sees a genuine spike in move-out demand every May and August around the University of Florida's academic calendar, plus a real inland Florida storm season (June through November) that brings down oak limbs across our famous canopy roads. We size jobs for both, from a single dorm cleanout to a full new-build lot.

Credentials
Straightforward, checkable facts about who you would be working with — no invented star ratings or reviews.
Fully insured for general liability and commercial auto. A certificate of insurance goes to your property manager, general contractor or builder on request, usually the same day.
GVL Dumpster Rental is locally owned and still runs out of one yard. The number on this page reaches the Gainesville yard, not an answering service in another state.
Close to the yard across Gainesville and Alachua County, out toward Melrose and the Putnam County line, and up to Keystone Heights, Starke, Trenton, Bronson and Williston. We tell you honestly which runs are same-day and which are next-day before you book, not after.
Clean concrete, scrap metal and yard debris get routed for recovery rather than buried wherever the local facilities allow it — good practice, not a state mandate here.
Guides
Sizing maths, permits, placement and real costs — the things that cost money when you get them wrong.
Pricing
Dumpster pricing in Gainesville isn't one flat number; it moves with size, weight, distance, and rental length. Here's what actually drives the cost of a roll-off in the Gainesville area.
Guide
Most renovation and cleanout debris is fair game for a roll-off, but a short list of items is banned everywhere in Florida for safety and environmental reasons. Here's what's allowed, what's not, and where the banned stuff actually goes.
Permits
Placing a dumpster on your own driveway almost never requires a permit. Placing one in the street or right-of-way usually does. Here's how permitting actually works around Gainesville and Alachua County.
Service area
We run roll-off containers out of our west-Gainesville yard near University Ave to all sixteen communities we cover across Gainesville and North Central Florida — Alachua, High Springs, Newberry, Archer, Micanopy, Waldo, Hawthorne, LaCrosse and Windsor close in across Alachua County, Melrose out toward the Putnam County line, Keystone Heights over into Clay County, Starke up in Bradford County, and Trenton, Bronson and Williston out toward Gilchrist and Levy County. Gainesville and the closest Alachua County towns are usually same-day; the farther edges of the service area are next-day. If your town is not listed, call anyway. We likely still get there.
Answers
Real, current third-party market data for the Gainesville area puts most roll-off rentals somewhere between roughly $225 and $925, depending on the container size, how dense the debris is, how long you keep it and how far out the delivery address is — every job is genuinely different, so that is a general market range, not a quote. What matters more is how the price is built. Ours is a flat rate covering delivery, the rental period, pickup and disposal, so the figure you are quoted is the figure you pay. Call with a short description of the job and you will get a firm number on that call, not a callback.
On the west side and across most of Gainesville, a morning call is often a same-day delivery. Farther towns in our service area — Starke, Trenton and similar — usually run next-day rather than same-day. Jobsite swap-outs get priority over new deliveries, because a full container stops a crew working.
It depends on where the container sits. On your own driveway, curb apron or job site — private property — no permit is required. If the container has to sit in the public right-of-way, a street or sidewalk, you may need a temporary permit from the City of Gainesville, and we can help walk you through that process. Our county-by-county permit guide covers the pattern across the rest of the service area.
Paint, solvents, oils, tires, batteries, hazardous chemicals, gas cylinders, propane tanks and medical waste are never allowed in a roll-off. That list applies everywhere we deliver — it is the material that gets pulled and charged back if it turns up in a load.
A loaded roll-off is heavy, and boards go under the rails as standard on every placement to spread that weight out. Tell us if the surface is anything other than a standard concrete or asphalt driveway — gravel, a newer pour, or a lot with soft ground — and we will talk through the right approach before the truck arrives.
Volume and weight are two separate limits and the material decides which one stops you first. Household clear-outs and construction offcuts run out of space, so size up. Concrete, brick, tile and landscape rock run out of weight with the box barely a third full, so size down and fill it part way. The 20 yard suits most whole-project jobs; the 10 yard is the right answer for anything heavy.
Yes, all 16 towns we cover — Alachua, High Springs, Newberry, Archer, Micanopy, Waldo, Hawthorne, LaCrosse and Windsor in Alachua County; Melrose toward the Putnam County line; Keystone Heights in Clay County; Starke in Bradford County; Trenton in Gilchrist County; and Bronson and Williston in Levy County — in addition to Gainesville itself. Distance is real, so a Starke or Trenton run is scheduled next-day rather than same-day and is not priced identically to a Gainesville delivery. We tell you both things on the phone before anything is booked.
Gainesville has two genuinely busy stretches worth planning around: the University of Florida's May and August move-out weeks, when student housing turnover generates a real spike in cleanout calls, and the spring-through-fall building season that runs on top of it. Florida's storm season, June through November, can also bring its own run of downed-limb and storm-debris work with very little notice. Outside those windows, contractors are more available and containers are easier to schedule. If your job has to run during a busy window, book as far ahead as you can.
